PUBLIC PURPOSE �ERVED BY REQUIREMENT: Section 205.053, 4,�i, requiring a minimum front qard setback of 35 feet. Public purpose served by this requirement is to allow for off-street parking without encroaching on the public right of way and also for aesthetic consideration to reduce the "building line of sight" encroachment into the neighbor's front yard. B. STATED HARDSHIP: Change setback from 35' to 30'. Desire to provide larger more convenient entrance area with closet. Desire to enhance exteri�or appearance. Desire to improve energy efficency through awning effect of roof overhang. ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF REVIEW: Field measurements show that the petitioner's house is 37 feet from the curb and 35 feet f�am the front property line. Adjacent hnuses have approximately the same front yard setbacks.- There are several older houses on Hugo Street that are cloger than 35 feet to their front property line. The petitioner intends to add an entrance and closet area to the front of the house.
