SECTION 2. The Inepector of Buildings shall, before iasuing permits for
the erection of �ny building or structure, or for any addition to any
existing structure or building, or for any alte�ation or repairs to anp
existing building or structure, upon ap�,licatiuu therefore, require the
the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein
belaw set forth and in the manner herin provided to-wit:
Uniform Building Code; Type 1, 2, 6c 4- $1.75 for each one thousand cubic
fe�t� or fraceioa thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3� 5- $1.50 for
eaCh cne thousand cubic feet. - '
For the purpoae of enmputi�g feee for building permits, the cubical
contents of any building or addition to a uniform height througiiout by
multiplying the grouad area covered from a po�.nt six (6) inches below the floo��
line of Che basement or the cellar to the average height of the upper surface
or t� the average height of the roaf surface of the main gable of a
pitched roof . fii •
F�r repairs or alterations to aa ea�isting structure, the fee shaZl be at the
rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof
in the cost ef all proposed work. �
Ia no case shall Che fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $5.00.

BUILDING PERAqIT FEE SCHEDULE
SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or structure, or for any alteration or repairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein provided to-wit:
LTNIFO1tM BUILDING CODE: �pe 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubic
feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3& 5-$1.85 for
each one thousan,d cubic feet.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the purpose of camputing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average.•
height of the roof aurface of the ma.in gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the
rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In ao case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $5.00.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the
time of appl3cation, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure�ead
of the coastruction site.
A Certified Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation, once it
has been constructed, will be required before proceedint� with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) days prior
to the use or occupancy qf any structure for which a building pezmit has been
issued; and said atructure shall not be used or occup�ed until a Certificate
of Occupsacy has been isaued. �

L'UILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
SECTION 2. Z'lie Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits fox the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or stxucture, or for any alteratian ox repairs to any exis�ing
building or structure, upon appli.cation therefore, xequire the payment by the
apglicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set foxth and in
the manner herein provided to-wit:
UNI�ORM BUILDING CODE: Type 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubic
feetq or iraccion thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3& 5-$1.85 for
each one thousand cubic feet.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Fo� the puxpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplyin.g the grotznd area
covered irom a point six (6) inches 1�elow the floor line of the basement
ox the cellax to the average heights of the upper surface ox to �he average.<
height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For xepairs or alterations to an existing structure, the £ee shall be at the
xate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In no case shall the fee chaxged fox any permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $5.00. .
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a min.imum of 24 hours from the
time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the constxuction site.
A Certified Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation9 once it
has been constructed, will be requi-red before proceertino with the framing.
CERTIPICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) days pxior
to the use or occupancy of any structure for which a building permit has been
issued; and said stLructure siiall not be used or occupied until a Certificate
of Occupancy has been issued.

Mr. Eichmiller,
It was with great dismay that I read your letter of October 10.
It states the service is a hazard. It does not define hazard or _
suggested corrective action. For example, I assume the hazard to
be the support of the incoming wires. I remoyed tfie board from
what used to be the gable end of my home. Until tfiat time, am I
to assume the service was not a hazard? I have not tampered with
the connections, the insulator is still attacfied to the board.
Also a point which seems very unproffessional to me i� tI�.is is
the first contact you've made, you've issued an ultimatum �r�tTi no
suggestion as to the solution, possibly because you're not fullp
aware of my circumstances. In past dealings witfi construction
inspectors, I've usually received professional guidance to City
and State law, it's interpetation and enforcement. The exctiange
has been verbal, I've adjusted (where necessary) plans to complete
construction within the frame work of the law.
I fully appreciate tTie need for tfie la�r, I realize �t i� �Q�
my benefit. I guess the only profilem may be tfie enforcers o� la�r.
You stated you've watclled progress in your letter. I tfiink to
be perfectly honest, it should have read lack of progress. This
is an entirely different matter.
My lack of progress is due to the lack of a mortgage. I felt
I had a mortgage secured recently. I contacted NSP and discussed
underground service. They had an estimate submitted for this work.
I had every intention of having the work contracted at that time.
I did not get a mortgage, the work was not completed.
I am grateful for this opportunity to respond before you dis�
connect. One moe thing I would be grateful for is for you to comply
with, what I assume to be a most basic responsibility you're charged
with, the feasability or legality of leaving tFie present service as

This is not something that I would like to do, I would like to

the firat thing I will arrange to have done is the completion of the
wiring. The second thing I would do would be to rejoice in tfie fact -
that the electrical inspector in Fridley is concerned about people,
and I would attempt to express my thanks (in writting of course)
If the proposed alternate to add a telephone pole is acceptable,
I will make necessary arrangements to Iiave the prork completed within
