At the July 1 Council meeting a variance was heard regarding the multi-plex
construction rn Hugo Street. At the meeting it was determined that Hugo
Street w�ould be widened an additional 10 feet to the north fran East River
Road to the end of the last driveway servicing the multi-plex with the
understanding that the developer w�ould pay the cost of curb cut and curbing
and the City w�ould p3y the cost of the asphalt. We have made a preliminary
review and determined that the concrete costs would be in the area of
$4,800.00 and asphalt, $2,000.00.
Zb date the developer has not applied for a building permit. Accordingly,
we hesitate to initiate action to widen the street and place the curb and
curb cuts without the assurance that the construction, as presented will be
c.ompleted. We are contacting Mr. Chouinard in an attempt to expedite his
permit request so that this oonstruction could be completed within this
years contracts, with the understanding that the asphalt work can be
included within our street project and paid f or out of our street
maintenance funds and that the concrete curb cuts can be cxmpleted through
our Miscellaneous C1irb and Gutter Contract.
