Please note that to place an air conditioner ia the side qard, he needs to obtain a Citq Permit. The City poliey is that prior to the issuance of the permit, he Would need your xritten permission on the installation in the side yard. If he is unable to obtain the xritten statement from you, We will then test the sound transmission level of his unit and if it does not meet the standard� they Will either have to move the unit or install a sound control device to bring it into eompliance vith the Code. Please take special note to the statement in the Ordinanee that WindoW air conditioners must also meet the sound transmission standards. This means that unless the two of you can resolve this issue, We must undertake the sound tests oa both units and enforce the Ordinance uniformly. We Will make the tests, if necessary, at your eonvenience or certainly not later than June 1� 1983 so that the situation can be resolved prior to the 1983 cooling season. .
