The Iaspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the erection of any building or structure, or for aay addition to any existing building or structure, or for any alteratioa or repairs to any existing building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in the ma.nner herein pravided to-wit: UN.CFORM BUILDING CODE: Type 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousaad cubic feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3& 5-$1.85 for each oae thousaad cubic feet. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the averagef height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof. For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in the cost of all proporsed work." In no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be lesa than $5.00. VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION NOTE: Penuits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and of the construction site. Fridley, Mn. 55432 Re: Smoke Complaint Dear Mr. Dosch: It was brought to my attention by our local Police Department that you are experiencinq a problem of having the dischaxge of smoke from your neighbor's chimney onto your property. We visited your premises on Monday, October 18, 1976 and found that nobody was home,�but while there, we inspected your neighbor's chimney and found it to be of proper height and construction. We have no City ordinance restricting the burning of wood for heating or recreational purposes. 7.'herefore, there is nothing the City can do to solve your complaint. If you feel you are bei.ng restricted in the use of your property due to the discharge of smoke from your neighbor, you may want to confer with a private attorney on the matter. I case No. 68442 Comp, states that his neighbor of 683 Glencoe ha.s a wood burning stove in his ga.ra.ga that continua.11y blows smoke and debri into his yard and home when it opexates. Comp. went on to say this is the third year of the complaint and he has asked the owner to do something about the problem but so far has not seen any improvement. Upon observing tha smoke stack from the Comp, back yaxd I could see some smoke but not a great deal. The problem was evident though in that�the Comp�s. house is much taller than the heighth of the stack and what smoke was present did blow directly into the Comp's. home. , Comp. went on to say that the other neighbors complain about the smoke also.
