BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
SECTION 2. Z'he Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing pern►its for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or structure, or for any alteration or repairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such pennit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein prw ided to-wit:
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE: Type 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubic
fee�, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3& 5-$1.85 for
each one tihousand cubic feet.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the purpose of camputing fees for building permita, the cubical contenta
of auy building or addition, ie determined by multiplying the ground area
covsxed from a poi.nt six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
or �he �ellar to the average heighte of the upper surface or to the average.�

facia boaxd to stay within code. He d�d feel that it was a or varianee but
he dichi't like it because no one would know whether it was 22 foot garage or
a 21.9 foot garage.

the roof sheathing and he added he wants the 1 8 feet aa this is a atandard

Mr. Olsen atated he would like to build a 22 foot by 15 foot addition onto the
top of an exieting 22 foot by 22 foot garage. The additi.on would be flu#h with
the back and aide of the garage and the setback in front would be decked and
railed. Zhe addition would be used as the mastex bedroom as the extra r�om ie
needed.dua to growth of the family. The present dwelling is a split leve�l design
with 3�mall bedrooa�. The present garage ie 7.1 feet from the lot line and thexe
is 11 feet 10 inches batween structuzes (foundittion to foundation),
Mr. Olsen aaid this ia the only way he can enlarge tha house and still k�ep the
eama contour. '
There was a petition presented with the request, eigned by the #our adjactent
neighbars and the one neighbor directly acroas th� street. Which stated $hey
had no obj�ctions to the variance.

board on the walls and ceiling.
Mr. Olaen stated he had planned to uae one hour fire rated shestrock on
the ceiling of the gara$e.
The Board asked him why he couldn't build the addition flush with the fronG
and back of the garage and have it setback from the side o� the gaxa�e which
Would then meet the code.
Mr. 01sen answered to support the addition the way he has pl�taned it,� would
involve placi.ng a support beam under the joiat at the Weat wall of t.t1e
addiCion. This beaw would not interfere with the ov�rhesd dcor on tbe gaxage.
The alternate plan suggeated wouid imiolve placi.ng the suppoxt b�am under
the South wall of the addit�.on which would interfere with the overhe8d
door apexation. This plan would also mean losin� an existing house windQw.
1�Ix�. Harju asked if he could cut back the propoaed esva on the additi�n front
3 feet to 1 foot� as it would decrease the chance of a fire star�ing in the
event the adjoining property owner's garage was on fire.
Mx. Qlsen said he could cut it down to 1 foot.
M�c. Drigans stated if propex fire protection and proper canetxuckion�deeign
wexe used, and made aubject to granting of the permit, he would ba i1x favo�
of $rantin� the v�riance.
