Section 2. Th� Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing any per6�it for
the erectioa of any building or structure, or for any addition to aay �xist-
ia� building or structure, or for any alterations or repaitce to any existing
building or structure, upoa application therefor, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees tv the emount hezeia_below set forth and
in ehe manaer herein pxovided to-wir:
2.1. For anq such permit for the erection o.f any fire-proof building, other
thaa a garage� warehouse;��factory or graia elevator, or for the erectioa of
any fire-proof addition, for similar occupancq, to any �acisting building
shall be �t the rate of $1.40 for each oae thousand cubic feet� or fractioa
thereof, in auch cubical coatents.
2.2. For anp such permit for Che erectioa of any fire-proof garage, warehouse,_
f�ctory or graia elevator, or for the erection of any fire-proof edd3tion,
for similar occupancy, to any exieting buildiag shall be at the rate of $1.25
for each oae thousand cubic f�et, classified as °1fireproof" by Sectioa 502 of
the Minneagolis Building Code..

fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. �ype 3& 5-$1.50 for each
one thousand cubic feet.
Ror the purpose of computing fees ��or building permits, the cubical contents of
any building or addition to a uniforcn height throughout by multipluing the ground
area covered from a point si� (6) inches beloc� the floor line of the basement or
cellar to the average height of the upper surface or to the average height of the
roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the

Upon receiving a phone ca11 from Warren Stock, the City of Fridley
Building Tnspection Division has been requested to mail you th,is
explanation.
Typically, rain gutters are attached to the fascia leaving a space
between the rain gutter and fascia. If the shingles do not extend
beyond the edge of the fascia, the water will follow the shingle
and run down the fascia.
With a formed combination rain gutter/flashing, the shingles are
typically instal led f lush to just beyond the edge of the fornEed
rain gutter. This design attempts to keep ice forming in the
gutters from lifting the shingles.
