SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shal'1, before issuing permits for the
erection of any building of structure, or for any addition to any existing
�+uildzi�g;or structure, or for any alterztion or repairs to any existing building
or structure, upon application theref�re, require th� payment by the applican.t
for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in the manner
herein provided to-wit:
Un.iform Building Code: Type 1,2, & 4- $1.75 for each one thousand cubic feet, or
fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3& 5-$1.50 for each
one thousand cubic feet.
For the p�rpose of computing fees �tor building permits, the cubic:al cantents of
any building or addition to a uniform height throughout by multipluing the ground
area covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basemeat or
cellar to the average height of the upper surface or to the averag� height of the
roof surface of the main gable of a p�tched roof.
�'or repairs or alterations to an eYisting structure, the fee shall be at the
rate oi $3.00 �er each Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or' fraction tnereof
in the cost of all proposed work.

BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
SECTION 2. The Znspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or structure, or for any alteration or repairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application therefore, require the paymeat by the
applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein prwided to-wit:
tTIVIFORM BUILDING CODE: �pe 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubic ..
feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3& 5-$1.85 for
each one thousand cubic feet.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical content�
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average.•
height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For xepairs or alterationa to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the
rate of $3.00 pex each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fxaction thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $5.00.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a mini�m of 24 hours fram the
time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the constructiQn site. -
A Certified Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation, once it
haa been constructed, will be required before proceedint� with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) days prior
to the use or occupancy of any structure for which a building permit has been
issued; and said structure shall not be ased or occup3ed until a Certificate
of Occupancy has been issued. •

� Mr. Benjami.n, 5708 Jefferson: Second Garage:
Councilman Sheridan told Mr. Benjamin that he had been added to the Agenda,
but as long as he was present now, they would take his problem up. He
explained that Mr. Benjamin was granted a permit for a second garaqe and
when he went in for a building permit the Building Inspection Department
told him he must have frost footinqs. He preferred a floatinq slab. He
said that this Nould seem reasonable as the new structure would be the
same distance from the road as the existing house. There is a 67' setback.
If the structure was moved fur�her back, it would be below street level.
Mr. Benjamin has stated that he will present City Hall with a letter stating
that at no future time will the new structure be connected to the house by
any "sort of a breezeway etc.
Mr. Benjamin said that he would present this letter to the Building
Irlspection Department to be kept on file that at no future time may the
garage be connected to the main building.
MOTION by Councilman Sheridan to authorize the Building Inspection Depart-
ment to issue a permit for a second garage for Mr. Benjamin on a floating
slab with no frost footings, provided that he submit a letter stating that
at no future time will the new structure be connected to the house.
Seconded by Councilman Liebl. Upon a voice vote, all voting aye, Mayor
Kirkham declared the motion carried unanimously.

�SCUSSION REGARDING LOCKE LAKE DAM, REQUESTED BY DR. AKBAR, 6745 EAST
.�, �
The City ineer said that he has indicated to the Council the severe
situation o is dam. Since this first came up,�he has been working
with the Locke � e Association to lawer the elevation of the lake.
The dam has been 1 red by about 3 feet so far. The last few days there
has been a considerab amount of rain. Even with lowerinq the dam crest
by 3', it has lowered th ake water level by less than a foot. He said
they are hoping if the wea holds, they can lower the level of the
dam further and drain the lake physically examine the damage to the dam.
They hope to take some pictures came up with a rec�endation. He
said that he was afraid the bottom o e culvert will be gone and the side
walls are in bad shape. If the dam is r ly bad they may have to drain
the lake and eliminate the lake over the wi r. After the physical
examination, he suggested that there be a publi hearing to inform the
people. After the examination of the dam, he will ome back for authori-
