The scope of our work was limited to performing a design review for the house trusses to access if the center wall was load bearing and supported the roof trusses. Our work was requested and authorized by Mark Winfield of Marathon Maintenance on February 23, 2004. AET personnel documented member sizes of', the typical roof trusses observed on February 23, 2004. AET's structural review indicates the trusses are not adequate to support the required loads per the current Minnesota building code with removal of the center wall. Additional plywood gusset plates at the peak and both locations where the lx6 meet the bottom cord, should increase the load capacity of the connections to sufficiently support the imposed loads to the truss members.
