RES 1962-33RESOLUTION NO. 33 -1962
A RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO IRON REMOVAL PLANT BACKWASH WATER OUTLET INTO
RICE CREEK - MISSISSIPPI RIVER.
WHEREAS, The City of Fridley proposes to construct and iron
removal plant as part of the City water utility and -
' WHEREAS, The operation of such plant requires the disposal of
said iron removed and
WHEREAS, The City of Fridley anticipates the construction in
joint participation with the Minnesota Highway Department of certain storm
sewer conduits which can be utilized for the conveyance of the filter back-
wash water discharging into the Mississippi River and
WHEREAS, The City of Fridley considers it mandatory that the iron
removal plant be placed into operation before the storm sewer outletting in-
to the Mississippi River will be available for use and
WHEREAS, The City of Fridley plans to construct a temporary'
outlet for the filter backwash water into an existing storm sewer conduit
outletting into Rice Creek approximately 500 feet east of University
Avenue,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Fridley shall
make connection of the filter plant backwash drain line to the storm sewer
conduit outletting into the Mississippi River in the vicinity of T.H. 100
as soon as this conduit is available for use and also construct a treatment
facility for the removal of settleable iron precipitate contained in the
backwash water temporarily discharging into Rice Creek should said discharge
into Rice Creek prove to be objectionable and, or create a nuisance.

RESOLUTION MAKING TRANSFER OF CERTAIN FUNDS - -
' WHEREAS, The City Council has previously authorized certain
expenditures for Sewer and Water Improvement Project No. 13 (sewer and
water mains on the East River Road) in the amount of $328,807.55 and
WHEREAS, bonds have been issued and sold in the amount of
$330,000.00 for Sewer and Water Improvement Project No. 13 -1960, and
WHEREAS, an assessment Roll has been prepared and adopted
in the amount of $216,021.39 and
WHEREAS, there will be insufficient money on hand in the
- Sinking Fund of Sewer and Water Improvement Project No. 13 - 1960, to
