b. That petitions relative to said improvements have been
received and filed with the City as follows:
(1) Petition No. 17 -1962 relating to Item a (1)
above.
(2) Petition No. 32 -1961 relating to Item a (2)
above.
2. That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
draw preliminary plans and specifications and to tabulate
the results of his estimates of the costs of said improve-
ments, including every item of cost from inception to ,
completion and all fees and expenses incurred (or to be
incurred) in connection therewith, or the financing thereof,
and to make a preliminary report of his findings, stating
therein whether said improvements are feasible and whether
they can best be made as proposed, or in connection with some
other improvements (and the estimated cost as recommended),
including also a description of the lands or area as may
receive benefits therefrom and as may be proposed to be
assessed.
3. That the City Clerk shall act to ascertain the name and address of
the owner of each parcel of land directly affected or within the
area of lands as may be proposed to be assessed for said improve-
ments (and each of them); and, upon receipt from said Engineer
of the said preliminary report, calculate estimates of assess-
ments as may be proposed relative thereto against each of said
lands.
4. That said preliminary report of the Engineer and estimates
of assessments of the Clerk, shall be furnished to the
Council, and made available for inspection to the owner
of any parcel of land as may be affected thereby at any public
hearing held relative thereto, as well as at any prior time
reasonable and convenient.

RESOLUTION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
follows:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fridley, as
1. That it is in the interest of the City to construct
certain recreation facilities in Fridley Commons, as
follows:

2. The specifications for the above described improvement
work, together with a proposal for the furnishing of
the necessary labor, material and equipment and the pay-
ment thereof, have been presented to the Council by the
City Manager and the same are hereby approved and adopted
as the specifications and the requirements by the City
with respect to the construction of said improvements.
3. The furnishing of said improvement work as described
above shall be effected by sealed bids to be received
and opened by the City of Fridley on the 2nd day of
July, 1962. The City Manager is directed and authorized
to advertise for the purchase of said equipment and
accessories by sealed bid proposals under notice as
provided by law and the Charter of the City of Fridley,
the notice to be substantially in form as that shown by
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part of by ref-
erence. Said notice shall be published at least twice
in the official newspaper of the City of Fridley.

BE IT RESOLVED BY the Council of the City of Fridley, as
1. That it is in the interest of the City to purchase
emergency replacement equipment for the Sylvan Hills
Lift Station, as follows:
Two (2) 15 H.P. 3 Phase Electrical Motors
2. The specifications for the above described motors,
together with a proposal for the method of purchase
and the payment thereof, have been presented to the
Council by the City Manager and the same are hereby
approved and adopted as the specifications and the
requirements by the City with respect to the acquisition
of said motors.
3. The purchase of said motors as described above shall be
effected by sealed bids to be received and opened by the
City of Fridley on the 2nd day of July, 1962. The City
Manager is directed and authorized to advertise for the

BID NOTICE
CONSTRUCTION OF TENNIS COURTS - FRIDLEY COMMONS
The City Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, will
accept bids on construction of two (2) tennis courts on the 2nd
day of July, 1962, until 12:00 o'clock Noon on said date at the
City Hal]., 6431 University Avenue Y.F., Fridley 21, Minnesota,
' (Tel: 560 - 3450). All bids must meet the minimum requirements
of the specifications. Failure to comply with this section can
result in disqualification of the bid.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's
check or Cash in an amount of not less than 5ro of the bid, wl-ich
check or cash shall be forfeited if bider neglects or refuses
to enter into a Contract, after his bid has been accepted.
the City reserves the right to accept the bid which is det-
ermined to be in the best interest of the City and to reject any
and all bids and waive any informalities or technicalities in
any bid.
The City �'ouncil also reserves the right to consider such fao-
tors as performance, experience; responsibility of the bidder, past
performance of similar types of construction, equipment or materials,
and other similar factors that it may determine to be in the best
interest of the City.
Copies of the specifications may be examined in the office
of the City Engineer.
All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes and plainly
marked on the outside with "Tennis Courts Bid ".
