Meeting was called to order at 7:25 P.M. by Chairman Fitzpatrick.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF AUGUST 25, 1969
MOTION to accept the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 25, 1969. The
Motion Carried.
HOCKEY ASSOCIATION OF FRIDLEY
Four (4) members of the Hockey Association of Fridley were present at the meet-
ing to discuss the upcoming 1969-1970 hockey season and youth program. A revised
edition of the written agreement was presented to the Commission for their study,
discussion and final approval. Points that were changed or added were as follows:

The members of the Association and the Commission also touched on the following
items of mutual interest: 1. Division ages, 2. Rink locations, 3. Warming house
facilities, 4. Lighting, S. Goalie equipment for House Bantam teams, 6. Length
of periods and rest time between same, 7. Officials with special emphasis on using
High School Athletes, and 8. Coach clinics.
Commission requested revised agreement with additions and deletions be drawn up
and signed by appropriate chairmen and the Director.

The Commission members were anxious to have the F.Y.F.A. reminded of their obli-
gation to see that all boys involved in the youth football program play in evsry
game. It was pointed out by the Director that this is one of the regulations and
that all boys that attend one practice during the week and work to play in the
games are substituted �,�to the game. It was also pointed out that the coachas
are obligated to see that this �,�-�Qng.

CONCESSION STAND POLICY
^ The commission discussed the policy on concession stands within the City that
are located on pa�k propertyo They asked the Director to contact the conces-
sionaire at the Moore Lake Beach House and ask what his schedule will be this
coming winter over at the shelter during skating seasono
CONA�ISSION MEMBER RESIGNS POST
Chairman Fitzpatrick announced that he had received a letter of resignation from
Dick Donlin and that due to business commitments he was unable to continue as a
member of this Commission.
MOTION by Cochran, seconded by Stimmler, to receive with regrets the letter
of resi nation from Mr. Donlin and a s ecial re uest to the Cit Council to
re are a certificate of achievement for his services ren ered not onl on
t e�ommission but also for his many years o work as Director of the Parks
prior to 1965. Mr. Donlin served from June, 1968 to the present. The Motii

PUBLIC RELATIONS AUTHORITY
The Commission reviewed and discussed the possibility of obtaining the services
of a Public Relations person to serve as an agent of the Commission and the depart-
ment to bring forward to the general public the many programs and accomplishments
of the Parks and Recreation Department during the year. This will be added to
the October agenda.
n YOUTH ADVISORY AGEND SOUGHT
The Director suggested to the Commission the idea of having a High School student
from the school district attend in an advisory capacity on a quarterly basis our
Commission Meeting.

The Meeting was adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
The next Regular Meeting will be held on Monday, October 27, 1969, at 7:30 P.M.
in the Conference Room of the Civic Center.
