MEMBERS PRESENT: Fitzpatrick, Cochran, Blair, Stimmler MEMBERS ABSENT: None OTHERS PRESENT: Mrs. Donald Wall, 6850 Washington Street N.E. (L.W.V.) Paul Brown, Director of Parks and Recreation MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 22, 1969 MOTION to accept the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 22, 1969. The Motion Carried. HOCKEY ASSOCIATION AGREEMENT The revised Hockey Association Agreement was signed by Member Blair, President, Hockey Association of Fridley; Chairman Fitzpatrick; and Paul Brown, Director. MOTION by Stimmler, seconded by Cochran, to accept the signing of the Agreement. The Motion Carried. ORDINANCE ON PROHIBITING VEHICLES ON PARK LAND The Commission discussed the memorandum sent to the City Attorney from the Director in whiCh the Commission requests an Ordinance prohibiting the use of motoriz�d vehicics within the boundaries of the City park ^ areas. • CONCESSION STAND POLIC�' The Com�ission reviewed the policy on concession stands within the City that are located on park property. The Commission members requested that the Director write a letter to the concessionaire at the Moore Lake Beach House and ask what his schedule will be this coming winter. The Director noted the license for the concession stand would terminate in April, 1970. 1970 BUDGET ADOPTED BY CITY COUNCIL The adopted budget will not be ready for two weeks. Chairman Fitzpatrick suggested a special meeting be set up on November 10, 1969, specifically to discuss the 1970 budget. This was agreed upon, providing the budget comes through by that date. PUBLIC RELATIONS AUTHORITY The Commission discussed and reviewed the need for better Public Relations coverage of our Parks and Recreation Department and to better inform the general public of our many programs and accomplishments during the year. Vice-chairman Cochran stated that we owe it to the public to let them know what is avail,able in our City parks.
