Res 1963-112 95it RESOLUTION NO. 1111963 RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE RAILROAD AND WAREHOUSE COMMISSION TO ORDER NORTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY TO INSTALL WALKWAYS ON BRIDGE NUMBER 16. WHEREAS, the railroad bridge crossing Rice Creek north of Mississ- ippi Street Northeast in the City of Fridley is a split bridge with one east-bound and one west-bound lane, and WHEREAS, it is an attractive nuisance to children who play on the structure, and also use it to cross Rice Creek, and WHEREAS, there have been at least two deaths of children on said split bridge, and WHEREAS, the structure has a height of 28.5 feet above the water and a length of 113 feet, and said bridge is Bridge Number 16, and WHEREAS, the Railroad and Warehouse Commission has the authority and power to order Northern Pacific Railway to install walkways on this split bridge structure, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley: 1. That the Railroad and Warehouse Commission is hereby requested to order and direct the Northern Pacific Railway to install walk- ways on the aforementioned Bridge Number 16. 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward two certified copies of this resolution to the Secretary of the Railroad and Warehouse Commission. Brunsell RESOLUTION NO. 112-1963 A RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE PRELIMINARY REPORT AND CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE MATTER OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS - WATER AND SEWER PROJECT NO. 61. WHEREAS, the construction of certain improvements is deemed to be in the interest of the City of Fridley and the property owners affected thereby. BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley, as follows: 1. That the preliminary report submitted by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, is hereby received and accepted. 2. That this Council will meet on the 15th day of July, 1963 at 8:00 o'clock P.M., at the City Hall in the City of Fridley for the purpose of holding a Public Hearing on the improvement noted in the Notice attached hereto and made a part thereof by reference, Exhibit "A". 3. That the area proposed to be assessed for said improvements and each of them as noted in said notice are all the lands and areas as noted in said notice: All of the same to be assessed proportionately according to the benefits received. 4..
