SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or structure, or for any alteration or repairs to'any existing
building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein provided to -wit:

PLAN CHECK: 25 percent of building permit fee.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the averagee
height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the
rate. -f $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $7.50.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the
time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the construction site.
A Certified Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation, once it
has been constructed, will be required before proceeding with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) days prior
to the use or occupancy of any structure for which a building permit has been
issued; and said structure shall not be used or occupied until a Certificate
of Occupancy has been issued.

RE: Letter dated April 1, 1993
Dear Ms. Lindholt:
I received your letter dated April 1, 1993, in which you requested
several pieces of information. I will attempt to answer your
reqests to the best of my ablility.
I have enclosed the setback requirements for the R-1, Single Family
Dwelling District, in which your property is located. The setbacks
are the distance the dwelling must be from the lot lines. You will
need to have a lot survey prepared by a registered land surveyor
to determine the location of the dwelling and the lot lines. The
City does not provide this service.
Information regarding specific building code requirements may be
obtained from Clyde Wiley, Chief Building Official, at 572-3602.
Information regarding building permit fees may also be obtained
from Mr. Wiley. The building permit fees are calculated on the
value of the construction.
If you have specific plans and ideas, I would suggest that you
contact either an architect or building contractor to assist you
in drawing blueprints. They would also help you with the building
code requirements.
The City is currently working to develop -a housing program to
assist qualified homeowners with a variety of improvements. I do
not know if you would qualify; however, you may contact Grant
Fernelius, Housing Coordinator at 572-3591, after April 19, 1993,
regarding the programs and their requirements.
I would suggest that you begin by looking in the yellow pages to
conatact several building contractors or architects to help you
with the next steps. You will need material and labor estimates
to determine how much you are spending on this project before you

Dear Mr. Swedberg:
A mechanical permit was issued on December 22, 2003 to install a new flue and two
connectors at your address. A plumbing permit was issued November 4, 2003 to install 7
fixtures at your address. According to the 1991 Uniform Mechanical Code and State
Plumbing Code a final inspection shall be conducted on the work authorized by these
permits. As of this date the inspections have not been requested.
The permit fee that was paid covers the inspection to make sure the work was completed
according to the Codes. We will keep your permits open for another 30 days and if we
do not hear from you within this time to set up the inspections, we will mark the permit
"no inspection called for by homeowner after notification" and the permits will be
expired.

RE: First Notice of Noncompliance of the Fridley City Code at 7500 Lakeside Road
Dear Ms. Lindholt:
The City of Fridley has established a City Code for the purpose of promoting a pleasant and attractive
suburban environment. A recent systematic code enforcement inspection of your neighborhood and
property revealed that not all Code requirements are presently being met. The following items do not
comply with the City Code:
• Fridley City Code requires that all solid waste must be kept in secured 32 -gallon
containers with tight -fitting lids stored in the side yard (screened from view), rear yard, or
garage, except on the day of collection when the containers may be placed up to 3 feet
from the front of the garage. A recent inspection revealed two refuse containers in the
front yard in an enclosure with no door and in poor repair.
Fridley City Code exterior storage requirements state that nothing shall be stored in the
front yard. All materials shall be kept in a building so as not to be visible from any public
right-of-way, except for stacked firewood, boats, and trailers placed in the side yard. A
recent inspection revealed fence materials, pipes/chain link in rear yard, and a fixture on
top of the fence materials.
We understand that you may have been unaware of these requirements. Your prompt attention in
correcting this situation will greatly assist us in helping make Fridley a better place to live. An
inspection will be conducted on or shortly after May 28, 1997. Please have your property in
compliance at that time.
