A recent inspection revealed that political signs at the northwest
corner of the above referenced property. appear to be creating a
visual obstruction at the intersection of Osborne Road/Lakeside
Drive. This obstruction extends into what is called the "vision
safety zone" (see enclosed definition) restricting a clear sight
path for motorists at this intersection.
Please take the appropriate action to bring this property into
compliance with the enclosed ordinance. I will be reinspecting on
or shortly after September 16, 1992, at which time compliance is

RE: First Notice of Noncompliance of the Fridley City Code at 7645 Lakeside Road
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Bourke:
The City of Fridley has established a City Code for the purpose of promoting a pleasant and
attractive suburban environment. A recent systematic code enforcement inspection of your
neighborhood and property revealed that not all Code requirements are presently being met.
The following items do not comply with the City Code:
• Fridley City Code requires that all solid waste must be kept in secured 32 -gallon
containers with fight -fitting lids stored in the side yard (screened from view), rear
yard, or garage, except on the day of collection when the containers may be
placed up to 3 feet from the front of the garage. A recent inspection revealed
unsecured refuse containers and refuse on ground next to driveway near the curb.
• Fridley City Code exterior storage requirements state that nothing shall be stored
in the front yard. All materials shall be kept in a building so as not to be visible
from any public right-of-way, except for stacked firewood, boats, and trailers placed
in the side yard. A recent inspection revealed items including, but not limited to, a
pallet of bricks on the west side of the front yard, wire mesh, two wheelbarrow
leaning against the shed, a diehard battery on top of the boat, lumber along the
garage, metal materials (car ramps) in front of the hard surface driveway, and
miscellaneous materials.
• Fridley City Code requires that all vehicles shall be currently licensed, street
operable, and kept on a hard surface parking area if they are stored outside. A
recent inspection revealed an unlicensed vehicle (224 MHT) and recreational
vehicle parked improperly. Please place all vehicles on an approved hard surface
driveway and inspect all vehicles to ensure that they are licensed and operational.
We understand that you may have been unaware of these requirements. Your prompt
attention in correcting this situation will greatly assist us in helping make Fridley a better
place to live. An inspection will be conducted on or shortly after May 28,'1997. Please have
your property in compliance at that time.
