BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
Section 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing any permit, for
the erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any exist-
ing building or structure, or for any alterations or repairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application therefor, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and
in the manner herein provided to -wit:
2.1. For any such permit for the erection of any fire -proof building, other
than a garages warehouse, factory or grain elevator, or for the erection of
any-firo-proof addition, for similar occupancy, to any existing building
shall be at the rate of $1.40 for each one thousand cubic feet, or fraction
thereof, in such cubical contents.
2.2. For any such permit for the erection of any fire -proof garage, warehouse„
factory or grain elevator, or for the erection of any fire -proof addition,
for similar occupancy,.to any existing building shall be at the rate of $1.25
for each one thousand cubic feet, classified as "fireproof" by Section 502 of
the Minneapolis. Building Code. y
HOUSES
2.3. For any such permit for the erection of any non -fireproof building other
than a garage, warehouse, factory or grain elevator, or any non -fireproof
addition, for similar occupancy, to any existing building - permit $1.00 for
each one thousand cubic feet.
GARAGES
2.4. For any such permit for the erection of any non -fireproof garage,
warehouse, factory or grain elevator, or for the erection of any non -fireproof
addition, for similar occupancy, to any existing building or for each such
building or addition - ninety cents ($0.90) for each one thousand cubic feet
or fraction thereof, in the cubical contents thereof with a minimum of $4.00.
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of any building or addition to a uniform height throughout by multiplying the
ground area covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the
basement or cellar to the average height of the upper surface or to the
average height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
2.5. For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be
at the rate of $3.00 per each Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or fraction
thereof in the cost of all proposed work.
2.6. In no.case shall the fee chargod for any permit as set forth in
Section 2 be less than $4_00.

BUILDING STANDARDS -DESIGN CONTROL MEETING OF AUGUST 6, 1970
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Harris at 8:03 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Harris, Tonco, White, Gnerre

MOTION by Tonco to approve the minutes of the July 23, 1970 meeting as
written.
Seconded by White. Upon a voice vote, all voting aye, the motion carried
unanimously.
1. CONSIDERATION OF A REQUEST TO CONSTRUCT A DENTAL CLINIC TO BE LOCATED ON
LOT 6 AND THE SOUTH HALF OF LOT 7 BLOCK 1 ERCO'S 1ST ADDITION THE SAME
BEING 1281 MISSISSIPPI 9TREET N.E., FRIDLEY. MINNESOTA. (REQUEST BY GEORGE
Mr. Walquist was present to present the request.
Mr. Walquist stated that the building would be masonry construction with
face brick exterior. It will have a mansard roof with cedar shakes.
The Board stated that louvres would have to be put in for ventilation in
the overhang of the roof to prevent dry rot. They also stated that a fire
block would have to be put in the roof.
The building will have steel studs with 16" centers on all framing. Type X
sheetrock which is fire resistant will also be used.
MOTION by Tonco to recommend approval to the Council to grant a building
permit for the proposed dental clinic subject to the following stipulations:
1. That the roof will be machine cut cedar shakes.
2. That louvres will be put in for ventilation in the roof.
3. That fire blocking be put in the mansard roof.
Seconded by White. Upon a voice vote, all voting aye, the motion carried
unanimously.
2. CONSIDERATION OF A REQUEST TO MOVE A GARAGE FROM 1515 HIGHLAND PARKWAY,
ST. PAUL. MINNESOTA. TO 225 LIBERTY. FRIDLEY. MIMES_OTA, THE SAME BEING
11. SPRING BROOK PARK. ANOKA COUNTY
Mr. Graunke was present to present the request.
Mr'. Graunke stated that he was going to take the garage apart at the corners
and that he would then put the walls up on a concrete slab. He is also
going'to put a hip roof on the garage to match the house roof.
A report from the Building Inspection Department was presented to the
Board. The report stated that the $wilding had a white cedar exterior and
an asphalt roof. All studs and rafters are 16" centers on all framing.
There ii a need for one or two more collar ties C4 krjnithe building up
to City code. One glass pane is broken on the entrance door bR; QtherWise
the garage is in very good condition throughout.

The City Engineer said that the Building Standards - Design Control recommended
approval of the moving of the garage. He then showed the Council a picture of
the garage, and commented that the garage is in good shape.
MOTION by Councilman Breider to approve the moving of a garage onto 225
Liberty Street N.E. requested by Gene Graunke. Seconded by Councilman Liebl.
Upon a voice vote, all voting aye, Mayor Kirkham declared the motion carried
unanimously.

ADDITION, THE SAME BEING 660 MARIGOLD TERRACE N.E., FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA.
The City Engineer said that this house is on the corner of Marigold Terrace and
Monroe Street. The existing house already has a setback of 14.2 feet. The
Board of Appeals recommended approval. The addition would be south, to the
rear.
MOTION by Councilman Liebl to approve the variance requested by Jerome A.
Manley, 660 Marigold Terrace. Seconded by Councilman Sheridan. Upon a voice
vote, all voting aye, Mayor Kirkham declared the motion carried unanimously.
The City Engineer said that the second item, a variance for a sign at Frontier
Club has been withdrawn by the petitioner as he has decided that he would stay
within the requirements of the Ordinance.

RE: Skateboard Ramp under Construction in Alleyway between
200 Blocks of Liberty and Ely Streets
Dear Owner/Occupant:
Recently it has come to our attention that a skateboard ramp is
being built and stored on City property at the above -referenced
site. As the City is responsible for the health and safety of its
citizens, and general maintenance of its property, we must require
that this construction cease and the materials be removed
immediately. This is necessary to keep the alleyway free of debris
and prevent risk of damage or injury caused by this activity.
If this ramp and any surrounding materials are not removed by June
12, 1989, the City will take action to resolve the problem. Please
