Seconded by O'Bannon. Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Nekora was present to offer his case to the Board. Mr. R. H. Anderson, 5179 Lincoln Street N.E., was present to offer his objection. MOTION by O'Bannon to close public hearing. Seconded by Ahonen. Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, the motion carried unanimously. MOTION by Ahonen to denyvariance because: 1. Unusual sewer easement in back yard that could permit home to be built near or over it. 2. Would not conform to neighborhood likeness ( reduce front yard setback) 3. Neighbor at 5179 Lincoln would have view of City blocked. This motion needs review by Council to: 1. Permit 28' 10" home to be built 35 feet from front yard line. 2. Permit would bring edge of home within 12 feet of cast iron pipe 25 feet below surface and 20 feet from back lot line. OR: City purchase lot from owner to build playground for local neighborhood children. Seconded by O'Bannon. Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, the motion carried unanimously. The Board recommends that the proposed rear yard requirement be reduced from 25 feet to 20 feet to permit the 30 foot 10 inch home (28' 10" + 2 feet for garage) to be built 35 feet from front line. There followed a discussion at the Council Table while looking at the plot plans. i. Filister said 'that they were working on the landscaping plan now. NOTION by Councilman Harris to approve the request, subject to the stipulations of the Building Standards ® Design Control and review of the revised plot plan by -the Building Inspector, and submitting the.landscaping plan. MINNEAPOLIS, =E§gTAja The City Engineer said that the Board of Appeals had denied this request for waiver for construction of a house because of -an unusual sewer easement. He said that this is a corner lot and the 201 sewer easement cuts through. Councilman Sheridan commented that this lot came before the Council once before. Councilman Harris asked if there was anything on this lot now. The City Engineer said that,it was vacant. There followed a discussion at the Council table while looking at the half section rap. The result of the discussion was that possibly an alternate plan could be devise, such as moving the garage back furttherj or making a tuck - under garage. It was suggested by Councilman Liebl that this lot should be used either by trying to put a house on it, or the City using it, and he suggested that the City Engineer should talk to the applicant about alternate plans, �,hich could be accommodate on this lot. 2.
