Dear Ms. Platt:
Please be advised that the existing porch at 380 Longfellow Street N.E.
does not meet the requirements of the Building Code. The roof is
structurally inadequate, the walls are not insulated, and are not
supported by frost footings, and the stairway to the basement must be
protected with a guard rail.
If the area is going to be used for year-round use, it must meet the
Code for that type of use. The structure will be allowed to exist
until August 1, 1979 if it is temporarily supported for the anticipated
snow load this winter.

A mechanical permit was issued on July 12, 2001 to install an air conditioner at your
address. According to the 1991 Uniform Mechanical Code a final inspection shall be
