This practice obstructs the water flow in the gutter and can cause damage to City vehicles when clearing snow from the streets. Therefore the City must require that any material be removed from the gutter. To insure that all the concrete is removed and that there is no damage to the curb, a City street maintenance crew will be removing the concrete. Any initial costs will be absorbed by the City, but if at a later date, it is found that a new obstruction exists, any new removal expenses will be the property owner's responsibility. If you feel that a problem exists when trying to enter your driveway from the street, please contact the City Engineering Department about acceptable solutions, e.g. constructing a new driveway depression.
