He reported that we had not hit it with our equip- ment. Today we received your letter and again sent a man out to look at the box. It is still our opinion that we did not hit it with our plow; it may have been damaged by snow or ice, in which case we do not pay for the damages. What I will do is refer this to our insurance company for their consideration and possible payment. I'm not at all pleased with the response. My mailbox was new last year. It was set (as it is now) on a 4 x 4 treated post. A 4 x 4 cut at a 45 degree angle supported the front of the box. The angle 4 x 4 was glued, nailed, and had two one fourth inch dowels drilled through it. After the plow went through the box was turned parallel to the road. The side was dented, the door did not work well and the dowels were snapped in two. I really don't care if it was a blade or not; I knocr who destroyed the box!
