PS 05.68THE MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING OF MAY 22, 1968
The Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ylinen at 7:35 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Ylinen, Ahonen, Mittelstadt, Minish, O'Bannon
MEMBERS ABSENT: None
OTHERS PRESENT: Clarence Belisle, Building Inspector
MOTION by Mittelstadt to approve Board of Appeals minutes of May 8, 1968.
Seconded by Ahonen._ Upon_a voice vote, there being no nays, the motion
carried unanimously.
I. REQUEST FOR A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF DOUBLE BUNGALOWS IN
AN R-1 DISTRICT AS PER. SECTION 45.19 (2A), CITY CODE OF FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA 1963
ON LOTS 10, 11, AND 12 BLOCK 2, RICE CREEK PLAZA SOUTH ANOKA COUNTY MINNESOTA
SAME BEING 6701, 6711, AND 6721 MAIN STREET NORTHEAST. REQUEST BY BERNARD R.
WOLKE, 251 RICE CREEK TERRACE NORTHEAST.
Lots 10 and 11 will be used - not 12.
Chairman Ylinen relinquished his authority as Chairman and appointment of
Mittelstadt as Acting Chairman was made by Ylinen, as he has special interest
in this matter.
Ben Wolke explained his proposal for construction of two town -house like
structures, evaluating them at $40,000.00 each.
Ylinen is in favor of the construction because the light industrial zoning
across the street will not allow FHA or CI Loans for adequate buildings to
be pursued.
MOTION by Minish to close the Public Hearing. The motion carried.
MOTION by O'Bannon to accept the request for Special Use -Permit - construction
of two double bungalows to be built to plans and specifications presented to
the Board at this meeting, and because all local neighbors were represented by
Ylinen,.as far as he knows, do approve of this building request.
Seconded by Minish. Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, the motion carried
unanimously.
8:OO P.M. Donald Mittelstadt dismissed himself as Acting Chairman.

BLOCK 1 AUS.ADDITION THE SAME BEING THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF 77th AND EAST
RIVER ROAD OR 7691 EAST RIVER ROAD FRIDLEY MINNESOTA. REQUEST'BY ROY'

REGUIAR COUNCIL METING OF JUNE 3, 1968 ,
XOR by Councilman Sheridan to award the bid for the two police
91'a to Southview Chevrolet, 303 North Concord Street, South at.
?1, Minnesota 55075 in the amount of $40041.00. Seconded by
99W.41man Harris. Upon a voice vote, all voting aye, Mayor
')Meat declared the motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Bernard Wo ke, present at the mmting, said that his buildings
will fake west, toward the light industrial property, and that they,
will be in line with the rest of the buildings.
NOTION by Councilman Harris to concur with the Board of Appeals
recommendations to permit the building of double bungalows by
Special Use Permit. Seconded by Councilman Liebl. Upon a voice
vote, all voting aye, Mayor Kirkham declared the motion carried
unanlmously.
The City Engineer explained that the request was for areal estate
office in one of the apartments, to be used as his office.. He had
explained to him that he should provide 4 parking spaces east of
the building for cars incurred by his business, that there should not
by,any big signs, and that a bigger radius would be needed for a
driveway.
Councilman Samuelson said that he had many objections to this apart.
