Dimensions of length and depth are taken at the longitudinal cross section of the pool corresponding with the centerline of the diving board; dimensions of minimum width are stated to provide one half of this dimension as the minimum clearance from the center- line of the diving board to each side of the pool. 2. Pool Type I is any residential pool providing less water dimensions than a Type II pool. The installation of diving equipment in a Type I pool is prohibited. 3. Point A is a base reference point where depth D1 intersects the water surface; and from which point all other dimensional points may be derived. It is the intention of this Standard to provide the minimum water envelope specified by these dimensions as related to Point A. It should be specifically noted that the L, distance from point A to the deep end wall is a minimum distance. (If L1 is increased the degree of slope below three feet (3') of deep end wall will decrease accordingly and the diving board overhang must be increased accordingly to satisfy the water depth requirements at the tip of the diving board (point A)). 4. When diving equipment is installed it shall conform to the specifications set forth in Section 2.11 of this Standard and shall be so located in the diving area of the pool so as to provide the minimum clearances intended in pool width, depth and length as outlined in Sections 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10 and 2.11 of these Standards. 5. Diving equipment shall be classified as to Type of pool required for its installation; and diving equipment of a greater Type, i.e. Type III shall not be installed on a pool of lesser Type, i.e. Type II. b. Vertical sections called for in this drawing shall be permitted to slope not greater than one foot ( 1' ) horizontally for each five feet (5' ) of depth ( eleven degrees [ 11 °] from vertical ). 7. A radius may be used to join the vertical deep end wall with the pool floor providing this radius and its point of tangency with the deep end wall are in accordance with the following: Page 3 MIN.
