Dear Mr. Gooden: Re: Swimming Podi at 7363 Menory Lane
The letter is to reiterate my conversation of July 11, 1975 with
custom pools and to::make clear this department requirements for the
swimming pool construction at the above address:
I. As discussed, one (1) skimmers approved by the National
Sanitation Foundation will be provided.
2. As discussed, three (3) inlets of approved design for fresh
and/or repurified water will be provided.
3. As discussed, a main drain of approved construction will be
provided.
4. The filter and pump shall be approved by the.N.S.F.. add bf
sufficient capacity to provide a minimum turnover of at
least two (2) times in 24 hours. This department recommends
a turnover rate of 7--8 hours.
5. A deck, a minimum of 3 feet wide and sloped away from the
Pool, must be provided around the entire perimeter of the
pools
6.- The diving area will be acceptable provided there is no
overhead obstruction.
7. A fence or other-Witable barrier, a.minimum of four (4)
feet high, that affored no external hand or foot holds and
which is impenetrable by toddlers, must be provided around
the entire perimeter of the pool. All gates and other
accesses shall be equipped with self-closing and latching
devices which are capable of being locked.
8. An automatic chlorinator should be provided with a suitable
test kit.
9. All electrical and plumbing installations shall be inspected
and approved by the City Inspection Department.
10•. All electrical lines must be 10 - 20 feet or more away from
the pool surface.
11. The pool fill spout must be air gapped or protected by a
vacumn breaker.

12. Suitable safety equipment to include but not limited to a
ring buoy and rope that is -1:1/2 times the pool diameter,
shepards crrole pole, must be provided and maintained with
the pool at all times.
Furthermore, these and any other requirements must meet the
Provisions of the Fridley City. Code, Section 115, Swimming Pools.
The building permit is approved contingent on final inspections
and approval by the City.

Re: Pool Filter Discharge on Park Property
Dear Mr. Gooder:
It has been brought to my attention that we are having a problem
establishing and maintaining grass on Madsen Park due to your having a
pool filter discharge pipe that is directing waste water onto the park.
I stopped by at your residence yesterday to discuss the problem, however
no one was home.
Apparently there is some substance in the discharge that is causing the
truf problem and therefore we must request that you alter the discharge
system so that it is not directed to discharge directly onto the park.
Your cooperation will be appreciated and if you have any questions,
please feel free to call me at 571-3450 or Ralph Volkman, Public Works
Superintendent at 571-3450, ext. 155.

Per Section 1402, 1997 Uniform Building Code, requires
that a weather resistive
barrier be placed over exterior sheathing to protect the
interior wall covering.
Exceptions for this provision would be if sheathing is

A mechanical permit was issued on March 27, 2000, to install a furnace and air conditioner at
your address. According to section 305 (a) of the 1991 Uniform Mechanical Code, a final
inspection shall be conducted on the mechanical work authorized by this permit. As of this date,
no inspection has been called for.
The permit fee that was paid covers the inspection to make sure the work was completed
according to the Mechanical Code. We will keep your permit open for another 30 days and if we
do not hear from you within this time to setup the inspection, we will expire the permit and no
further action will be taken.
