Dear Mr. Mackenthun:
Recently, it has come to my attention that a tree located on the north side of your property is
dying, and poses a potential safety hazard since it could fall causing damage or injury. Upon
inspection, the City's Forester, Dave Lindquist, has informed me that he believes it is in the best
interest of public safety for the tree to be removed. Since you would be responsible for damage
or injury resulting from the tree falling, I request that you review this matter further, and consider
removing and disposing of this tree (Please contact Paul Lawrence, Public Works Superintendent
at 572-3563 should you wish to gain the City's assistance in removing this tree, and making
arrangements for payment).
