Dear Mr. Anderson:
The City has recently completed a survey of all it's intersections and has
determined that there are approximately 100 intersections that do not meet
the requirements of City Code Section 205.154 (3).
This Code states that, "on a corner lot in a vision safety control zone,
nothing shall be erected, placed, planted or allowed to grow in such a
manner as to impede vision between a height of two and one half (2a) and
ten (10) feet above the level of the curb nearest it (in the absence of a
curb, the centerline grade of the intersecting street shall be used in lieu
of curb level), the vision safety control zone is described as follows:

straight line joining points on said right of way lines twenty five (25)
feet from the intersection of said right of way lines."
The survey of your lot (see attached) indicates that you are in violation
of the Code in the areas marked "X" in the following list;

traffic in the City of Fridley, periodic inspections of street
intersections are conducted. An inspection on August 4, 1981 has
determined that the sight line for the intersection on your property
is obstructed and could present a hazard to traffic.
Section 205.154 of the City Code requires that, "On a corner lot
in a vision safety control zone, nothing shall be erected, placed,
planted or allowed to grow in such a manner as to impede vision...,
the vision safety control zone is described as follows: That area
bounded by the street right of way lines of a corner lot and a
straight line joining points on said right of way lines twenty five
(25) feet from the intersection of said right of way lines."
Therefore, the City is requesting you, the property owner, to
correct the following problem and make the City's streets safer for
travel. A reinspection will be conducted on or about August 17, 1981
to determine compliance. We are confident in your cooperation to
correct this matter and if any questions or problems result from this
letter, please contact me at 571-3450.
The inspection of your lot indicated that the following
obstruction is existing and should be corrected:
Bushes or shrubs growing into sight line - trim down or
back to be less than 2 1/2 feet high.
Hedge growing into sight line - trim down or back to be
less than 2 1/2 feet high.

Dear Mr. Anderson:
Enclosed you will find this department's letter dated July 16, 1982
which brought to your attention the need to trim back the branches
of the weeping willow. The growth of these branches has obstructed
the vision of drivers traveling on Abi-e Street and Mississippi
Street.
Section 205.154 of the Fridley City Zoning Code states that, "On a
corner lot in a vision safety control zone, nothing shell be
erected, placed, planted or allowed to grow in such a manner as to
impede vision..., the vision safety control zone is described as
follows: That area bounded by the street right of way lines of a
corner lot and a straight line joining points on said right of way
twenty five (25) feet from the intersection of said right of way
lines."
Therefore, the City is again requesting you, the property owner, to
correct this violation. A reinspection will be conducted on or
about October 4, 1982 to determine compliance. We are confident in
your cooperation to correct this matter and if any questions or
problems result from this letter, please contact me at 571-3450.
Failure to abate this violation may result in this matter being
turned over to the City Prosecutor for his legal consideration.
