The Meeting was called to order by Chairman Nawrocki at 700 P;M-

There was no one present for or against the requested variance.
MOTION by Fitzpatrick, seconded bar Jankoviski, to recommend to the Council
that the variagaq bg nrgpte§. Upon ,a voice vote, there being no nays,
Chairman Nawrocki declared the motion carried.
Mr. O'Bannon was present and stated that he did not wish to hurt any of
the neighbors by having a sign on his property, and that be would agree,
if there were objections from the neighbors, to remove said sign at such
time as a structure might be placed on the neighbor's vacant lot.
Mr. Roger Booth, Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 11, Hamilton's Addition, to
Mechanicsville, stated that he objected to the placement of the sign on
this property. Mr. Krumrviede, owner of Lots 25 and 26, Block 11, Hamilton's
Addition to Mechanicsville who owned the property next to the property in
question, stated that he would object to the sign if it had built on ladders
so that children could climb onto the sign. Mir. O'Bannon stated that the
sign would be serviced by truck with no ladders available to reach the sign.
Mr. Krumiede theca stated that he had no objection to the sign.
SON by Saunders, seconded by Jankowski, that this hearing be continued
to two creeks from tonight, Wednesday, August 10, 1966 at 7,30 P.M. Upon
a voice vote, there being no nays, Chairman Hawrocki declared the motion
carried.

Mr. Leif Hendrickson was present and explained that he was attempting to
build a detached garage in the rear of his propefty, and haat it appears

that the setback of 17®611 from 7th Street could not be met if the garage
was constructed at the spot originally approved by the Building Inspector
because apparently the actual property line was not where the builder had
thought it was when he measured in for said setback. The garage, however,
would be 24 feet from the edge of the traveled surface of 7th Street.
Councilman Sz,mzuelson present for the Building Board Meeting, then discussed
this matter with the Board since Mr. Samuelson had been contacted by
Mr. Hendrickson and had looked at the site. Mr. Samuelson stated that he
felt that this locations was reasonable, and that there would probably be
no problem created by such location, although if sidewalk were placed on
the west side of 7th Street between Mississippi Street and 67th A.enue
N•3rtheast, it might make the garage close enough to the sidewalk that the
owner could not park his car in his driveway without overhanging said
sidewalk. Mr. Hendricks)n stated that if sidewalks were put in, he would
certainly park his car in the garage and not interfere with the use of the
sidewalk. Mr. Samuelson stated haat he had talked to the neighbor affected
by the location of this garage, Mr. Bean Babel, and that Mr. Babel had said
that he preferred to have the garage located at this spot. Mr. Hendrickson
stated that he had also talked to Mr. Babel, and that if the garage had to
be moved to conform with the setback requirements, it would require the
removal of five large trees which shaded both this property and Mr. Babel's
and that Mr. Kabel definitely did not want the trees removed.
The Board took a consensus poll with all members stating that they would
feel that, at such time as this would come before therm for consideration,
they would recommend that a variance be granted.

adjourned at 8002 P.M.

an obstruction of vision for cars approaching Mississippi Street from 7th Avenue
at your home located at 495 Mississippi Street N.E.

The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Fridley Section 45.154-3 reads in

right-of-way lines of a corner lot and a

your hedge to abate this potentially hazardous condition.

We recently received information suggesting that you are selling
vehicles from the street in front of your residence. Per Fridley
City ordinance 506.10 (copy enclosed) no one may display for sale
a vehicle on any public right-of-way. Furthermore, the only
acceptable instance in which a vehicle may be displayed for sale
on a private property is when the vehicle is parked on a
hardsurface driveway, and only if it is registered to the property
owner or occupant.
Recently, I observed a vehicle (license RV 65442) displayed for
sale parked on 7th Street N.E. beside your house, and this vehicle
does not register to you. If you are attempting to sell this
vehicle, please remove it immediately and discontinue this
practice.

requires that all residential building contractors, remodelers and roofers obtain a state
license unless they qualify for a specific exemption from the licensing requirements. As
the owner of the property at 4SE `;,Ss, nhi e4 Alia , Fridley, I
am exempt from the state licensing req ui ement only if I am not building or improving
this property for purposes of resale. By signing this document, I attest to the fact that I
am improving this house for my own use and do not intend to sell it. I hereby claim to
be exempt from the state licensing requirements because I am not in the business of
building or remodeling on speculation or for resale and that the house for which I am
applying for this permit, isl the first residential structure I have built or improved in the
past 24 months. I also acknowledge that because I do not have a state license, I forfeit
any mechanic's lien rights to which I may otherwise have been entitled under Minn.
Stat. 514.01.
Furthermore, I acknowledge that I may be hiring independent contractors to perform
certain aspects of the construction or improvement of this house and I understand that
some of these contractors may be required to be licensed by the State of Minnesota. I
understand that unlicensed residential contracting, remodeling, and/or roofing activity is
