Skrief 5880 Monroe St. Fridley, MN 55432 Dear Mr. Skrief: Recently you contacted our Public Works Director, Mr. Sobiech, regarding a drainage problem at your driveway entrance. He referred the problem to my attention and our office reviewed the situation and had a survey crew out to obtain some elevation infor- mation of your drainage problem. We also observed it after several rainfalls and checked our past.records. It was found that the City performed some grinding and cutting in the'gutter to eliminate a high spot in the flow line. This was corrected to the tolerance allowed by such methods. What remains is a minimal grade to handle the drainage from the street. Our observation shows that although the rate is slow, the water will drain and no noticable retention will remain over 24 hours. It was found that your driveway behind the curb and gutter section is depressed and does not allow the water to drain to the gutter. To eliminate this problem, it is recommended that you arrange to have a bituminous patch placed where your driveway elevation is deficient. Yours very truly, Thomas A. Colbert, P.E.
