It is difficult to interpret his intentions, from what is in the letter, however I would understand it as a willingness to review the area at the time of final landscaping and provide whatever is necessary to ensure proper screening. It appears the last sentence is the key, as it indicates an additional tree or two will be pro- vided as needed. Please advise if this satisfies your concerns. That the "scrub brush" on Mr. Farr's property adjoining our property line should be retained and that care should be taken to minimize any damage to the brush due to planting trees in this area, etc. 2. That (to the extent possible) the two Austrian Pines shown in the plans should be positioned between existing trees in order to provide the most effective visual barrier between our two properties. 3. That, instead of the burm originally discussed, the 2 Austrian Pines shown in the plan should be 11 to 12 feet high (to offset partly the four -foot increase in elevation at this point). 4. That one additional tree be planted in the area where the black -top driveway of the townhouse comes within approximately six feet of our property line. Hopefully the above could be accomplished with minor inconvenience to Mr. Farr. It would certainly help to offset the loss of trees behind our lot. Thank you, Dick, for your assistance. Jorgenson/5601 North Danube Road N.E. Recently, Councilmember Jorgenson contacted staff regarding an excessive amount of brush located on the above -referenced site. Staff had previously sent a letter to this property owner and she had requested and been granted an extension until August 1, 1994 to resolve the problem. In requesting the extension, the property owner stated that she was cutting and bundling the brush for pickup by her refuse hauler in small quantities over a period of weeks. Staff reinspected this residence on August 2, 1994, and observed that the brush had substantially been removed. A minor amount remained on the ground, but staff does not believe that a code violation exists at this time. In addition, it is probable that the remaining brush will be removed soon as well, based on the property owner's.arrangement with her refuse hauler to take small amounts each time. Jorgenson/Property at 5601 N. Danube Road N.E. Recently Councilmember Jorgenson requested that the staff investigate an accumulation of brush in the front yard at the above referenced location. Councilmember Jorgenson stated that this had been referred to staff earlier, and did not appear to have been completely resolved. On October 24, 1994, staff inspected this site, and observed an area of brush and tree material located on the front yard. Upon reviewing the code enforcement file, staff determined that this brush and tree waste is new material since the original pile of brush had been removed, and the property brought into compliance as of August 4, 1994. On October 25, 1994, staff contacted the property owner, Dianne Mulvihill, at her work telephone number to further discuss this matter. Ms. Mulvihill indicated that the brush and tree parts had been brought to this location recently, and are the result of some clean up work she is conducting in her back yard. Ms. Mulvihill wanted it clearly understood that this material is not part of the original brush pile, and that she is striving hard to improve the rear portion of the property. Staff instructed Ms. Mulvihill to resolve this problem by November 15, 1994, and sent a follow- up letter (copy attached) confirming this information. Staff will re -inspect this property on or shortly after November 15, 1994 to ensure that compliance has been achieved. Please let us know if you have questions, or wish to discuss this further.
