One of them is a "stop ahead" sign, which perhaps was necessary when the stop sign was initially installed, warning people of a new change at the comer. Unfortunately we will not be able to remove any altogether but I have instructed our personnel to straighten and consolidate some of the signs to reduce the number of posts. The "bike route" signage will be placed on the pole for the stop sign and its post removed to consolidate. We work with several other agencies including the state and county to develop on -road bike routes such as the one on North Danube Road and Arthur Street. These are marked on published maps and we feel that the curving nature of the streets through the area do require the sign to remain. I have instructed our personnel to straighten the post for the "stop ahead" sign. This sign also must remain. While I understand that everyone who lives in the area is aware of the sign now, you are on a route to a high school that has new drivers every year.
