Re: Your Request for a Kennel License
I have reviewed the new ordinance, and am sorry to inform you that
a kennel operation is not allowed in a residential area. The new ordinance
defines the requirements for a kennel locense, but refers to the Zoning
Ordinance as to the location it can be placed. Section 205.131, (3A)(5)
of the Fridley Zoning Code allows kennels only in the M-1 and M-2 (industrial)
Districts. Therefore, the storage of 3 or more dogs and cats over 3 months
of age in a residential area would not be allowed. Any diviation to this
ordinance would constitute a violation, and would be subject to any penalties
under Chapter 901 of the Fridley City Code.

fire damage at 1239 *Norton. Avenue N.*E'.--a--s' tfie".result .of a fire on
January 31, 1981.
We made an inspection of the structure on February 2, 1981.and found that
the interior of the structure sustained substantial damage.frcm the fire.
and or vandalism. This together .with the fact.that the structure is
lacking in many areas of Code ccmplian6e,'m
eans that it must either -be
-torn down 6r brought. _int:6 complete :* compliance;.
The building is presently wide open and poses a hazard,.therefore if you
do not immediately remove t1fe structure, you must then board --dt -up,'until
such time as -it is torn down.

Dear Mr. Muesing and Mr. Crowell:
The City of Fridley has established a City Code for the purpose of promoting a pleasant
and attractive suburban environment. A recent inspection of the property at 1239 Norton
Avenue N.E. revealed that not all Code requirements are presently being met. Listed
below are items which do not comply with the City Code:
Fridley City Code requires that all solid waste must be kept in secured containers
stored in the side yard, rear yard, or garage. I observed a large amount of solid
waste spilling out of several refuse containers at this location.
Your prompt attention in correcting this situation would greatly assist us in helping make
Fridley a better place to live. An inspection will be conducted on or shortly after July 10,
1996, to determine compliance.
