FSE: Non -Compliance of the Fridley City Code at 1586 Osborne Road N.E.
Dear Mr. Stuart:
On April 7, 1987 it was confirmed by an on-site inspection that the property
at 1586 Osborne Road N.E. does not meet the minimum standards necessary to
maintain a pleasant and prosperous suburban environment. While major code
requirements are satisfied, the following item does not comply with the
performance standards of the City Code:
1. Sign was installed before a sign permit was issued. This sign is an
illegal, non -conforming sign. City Code requires that you remove this
sign within 30 days.
I understand that there may have been some extenuating circumstances for this
to have occurred, however, your ruick action to correct this situation would
be a great improvement for your property and the entire community as well.
An inspection will be conducted on or about May 11, 1987 to determine
compliance.

RE: Displaying a Sign Without a Permit at 1586 Osborne Road N.E.
Dear Mr. Stuart,
On April 8, 1987 I sent you a letter of follow-up to an earlier telephone
conversion we had regarding a commercial sign you erected at 1586 Osborne Road
N.E. This sign was erected without a permit approved by the City and you were
given 30 days to have said sign removed. The City could not issue a permit
for this sign because it did not meet Code requirements for signs in
residential districts.
I inspected the site on May 11, 1987 and found said sign was still in place.
I am enclosing a copy of the portion of the City sign code pertaining to sign
violations for your review. As you can see from this document, the City can
remove the non -complying sign and assess the cost of removal against your
property, or you can remove the sign yourself.
A follow-up inspection will be conducted on or about May 26, 1987 to determine
compliance. I look forward to your cooperation on this matter.
