GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
The following must be secured before moving permit will be issued:
1. A building permit for new location of building to be moved. To obtain this building permit, the following is
required:
(a) The building to be moved must be inspected for structural soundness by the building inspector. Phone this
office for inspection. SUnset 4-7470.
(b) A survey of lot to which building is to be moved. This survey must be made by a licensed surveyor.
(c) The building and moving permit must be obtained at the same time.
2. Tax receipt showing that all real estate taxes due have been paid. Duplicate receipts may be obtained at Anoka,
County Auditor.
3. Approval from, the Fridley Water and Sewer Department showing that bills chargeable against the property to
be moved have been paid and water connections have been discontinued at the curb line or at the main. (See
reverse side of form.)
4. Approval from Fridley Director of Public Works office approving routing.
5. Notification to,,and signature of utility companies. (See reverse side of form.)

Re: Ceiling Height in Basement
Dear Mr. Bruce:
In response to your August 17, 1993 conversation, the City of Fridley
takes this opportunity to inform you of building code issues with
your dwelling situated at 961 Pandora Drive.
On August 12, 1993 a building permit for an addition across the rear
of your dwelling was issued with corrections as noted based upon a 12
course foundation wall with 810" rough ceiling height.
Upon contractor request for a footing inspection the morning of
August 17, 1993, it was observed that the existing and proposed
foundation walls would only be 10 courses high. This provides a
finished room ceiling height of approximately 6110". Please note
that UBC Section 1207 (a) requires a minimum ceiling height of 7'6"
in habitable rooms (bedrooms, living rooms, family rooms, dining
rooms) with a minimum clearance of 710" to projections (lights,
beams) and a minimum clearance of 710" to ceiling and projections for
nonhabitable spaces (kitchens, hallways, bathrooms).
Since it was not practical to lower the footing depth for the
addition because of the ground water infiltration, it was suggested
that you consider providing two (2) additional courses of block.
This was not an acceptable alternative to you because it would
interfere with your kitchen project which you stated "was the main
reason for the addition".
Based upon minimum ceiling height requirements, as noted above, your
entire basement is nonhabitable space and may not be finished off for
habitable rooms, especially sleeping areas.
This communication along with your statement dated August 17, 1993
shall be placed in your dwelling's address file for public record.

Since your existing ceiling height is 611011 the installation of one
or two courses ( rows ) of concrete block would provide your dwelling
with additional habitable space and improve the drainage away from
your foundation wall.

Please note that building, plumbing, mechanicals electrical
permits and inspections are required within the City of Fridley.
