Enclosed is the required information for the gabbion basket erosion control project located at the QBVy Petrangelo residence at 520 Rice Creek Dr. in Fridley. Included is a site plan, setback from Rice Creek and all elevations relating to said creek. There should be no need for a Sediment -Erosion Control Plan due to very little or no excavation needed on the creek bank. As shown on the specifications some areas will require two baskets high, while in some other areas only one basket will be necessary (or one basket plus one to two feet of rip -rap on top of basket). Each basket is 3ft. by 3ft. by 6ft. The north end of Mr. PetrangeIos' property is suffering from severe erosion under a large stump and two existing trees. there would have to be a minimal amount of fill placed beneath these trees to fortify the root structure prior to the instal- lation of the gabbion baskets. As shown we will be using Amoco 45-45 filter fabric behind the baskets. The willow tree extending out into the creek bed appears to be in good condition and would be avoided by putting the baskets higher and back into the bank , thus not disturbing it while costruction is in progress. Subject: Stream Bed and Bank Stabilization Program along Rice Creek, Reference: Your letter PW97-185 dtd. 11/25/97 We are responding to the referenced letter. In 1988 we had applied for and received a permit from the Rice Creek Watershed District to stabilize our portion of the bank on our property alongside Rice Creek. The permit was granted. At the same time we had applied for and received a permit from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. The permit was granted. Upon receipt of these two permits, the work was contracted out and completed according to plan in the fall of 1988. Subsequently inspectors from the Rice Creek Watershed District and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources inspected the project. Approval and acceptance were given by both agencies. This information should be a matter of record and on file with both agencies. It is now 1997 and the work done in 1988 is still very much effective and will continue to be effective for a long time to come. No further stabilization work is necessary nor desired on our property. We do not wish nor want to be included in the proposed bank stabilization project. By the way all costs for above work done was personally paid for by us with no public assistance.
