As you requested, I have reviewed the existing garage slab at the above referenced address. As a result of
the deterioration of the existing concrete slab, the owners would like to have that concrete removed and
replaced. It is my opinion that this is a proper course of action since I believe that the existing concrete slab
has delaminated and it is likely that existing reinforcing bars in the slab have started to oxidize and
deteriorate.
I have performed calculations in accordance with the Minnesota State Building Code to determine the
requirements for a replacement slab. The result of my design is illustrated on the attached drawing S1.
