Dear Mr. Soderstrom:
It was brought to the City's attention and confirmed by an on-site
inspection on May 6, 1980 that you were maintaining on your property
cement mixers, wheelbarrows, scaffolding, wood forms, wire mesh,
bricks, rocks, and other construction equipment and materials. This
is creating a cluttered appearance and a detractant to the neighborhood.
At this time, the City would remind you that the purpose of an R-1
Zoned single family residential district is to provide a living setting
away from the clutter, noise, and traffic of a commercial area.
Therefore, it is the City's feeling that this accumulation of equipment,
material, and debris is creating a nuisance in the neighborhood and must
be corrected by removing said material and debris to an appropriate
disposal site. An alternative would be to store these items within the
confines of a building.
A reinspection will be conducted on or about May 19, 1980 to determine
compliance. We are confident in your cooperation and desire to make
Fridley a better community to live within. If any questions or problems
arise fxcm this letter, please contact me at 571-3450.
Failure to abate this violation may result in this matter being turned
over to the City Prosecutor for his legal consideration.

Re: Home Occupation Requirements

It was brought to the City's attention on May 27, 1982 that you were
operating a home occupation at your residence.
Although the City does permit certain home occupations, it should always
be remembered that the purpose of a residential area is to provide a
living setting away from the noise, clutter or traffic of a commercial
district. Therefore, please read the following section of the Fridley
City Zoning Code which defines a home occupation.
Section 205.02 defines a home occupation as, "Any gainful occupation or
profession engaged in by the occupant of a dwelling at or from the dwelling
when carried on within a dwelling unit and not in an accessory building,
e.g. garage, and which is clearly incidental and secondary to the residential
use of the premises and does not change the character thereof, provided that
no signs other than those normally utilized in a residential district are
present, no stock in trade is stored outside the building, over the counter
sales are not involved and entrance to the home occupation is gained from
within the structure. Such use includes professional offices, minor repair
services, photo or art studios, dressmaking or teaching and similar uses;
however, a home occupation shall not be interpreted to include tourist homes,
restaurants, or similar uses. Teaching shall be limited to four (4) students
at any given time. No home occupation shall be permitted that results in
the need for more than two (2) parking spaces at any given time in addition
to spaces required by the occupant (family;. Occupations requiring the
hiring of employees other than members of the immediate family shall not
qualify as home occupations."

Dear Owner/Occupant:
The City of Fridley has established a City Code for the purpose of
promoting a pleasant and attractive suburban environment. A recent
inspection of the property at 6438 Riverview Terrace N.E. has
revealed that not all Code requirements are presently being met.
Listed below are the items which do not comply with the City Code:
1. Discontinue outside storage of items located east of -garage
including, but not limited to, portable cement mixers,
barrels, basketball hoop/backboard and assorted debris.
2. Remove wood/lumber stored at the same location, except for
that which is kept as a neat, orderly woodpile.
Your prompt attention in correcting this situation would greatly
assist us in helping make Fridley a better place to live. An
inspection will be conducted on or about December 27, 1988 to
determine compliance.

promoting a pleasant and attractive suburban environment. A recent

1. Discontinue the improper outside storage of snowmobiles and contractor goods
located in the side yard and adjacent to the garage. (Boats, trailers, and stacked
firewood are the only items permitted as outside storage in the side yard or rear
yard.)
2. Fridley City Code requires noxious weeds and weed growth over 10 inches to be
cut by the property owner. Please contact me regarding specific areas of your
property in violation of the City's weed ordinance.
Your prompt attention in correcting this situation would greatly assist us in helping make
Fridley a better place to live. An inspection will be conducted on or shortly after August
24, 1996, to determine compliance.

A final inspection to determine compliance will be conducted on or about September
23, 1996. You should arrange to complete an approved plan for compliance before
that date. Should this inspection confirm that this deficiency still exists, legal action will
be approved. If corrective action cannot be completed by this time, contact me to
coordinate a schedule to complete this requirement.
