Area 612, 222-8423 The Metropolitan Sewer Board does not make lateral assessments. For this reason, we can not grant a waiver for these assessments. It is suggested that you contact the City of Fridley, and have them make .the determination of sewer availability. The Metropolitan Sewer Board is responsible by legislative action only for interceptors and treatment plants. The local governing unit, in this case Fridley, retains control over all local sewers. If the connection is to a Metropolitan interceptor, a connection permit is required to be filed with the Metropolitan Sewer•Board by the City. We have been told that our plan does not comply with the city code because we are building the shelter on the side of our property that faces the street, which according to Fridley code is our front yard. Our property is located on the Mississippi river and the front of the house faces the river. We have an easement from the street to get to our driveway and garage.
