This is in reference to our June 5th telephone conversation regarding the above
referenced residence. The residence is currently under construction. The purpose
of Mr. Radziejts meeting at our office and our follow-up telephone conversation
with you was to discuss the built up beams supporting the high roof trusses over
the living room area at the front of the building and over the bedroom areas to
the rear of the building.
Our calculations and your calculations closely agreed and the following was
concluded:
1. Over the living room area add three 2xl2is to the existing beam (i.e.,
the beam made up of three 2x10is with plywood fillers). The 2xl2ts
are deeper and must be notched into the double cap at the ends. It
was discussed how this might be accomplished. The added 2xl2ts are
to be spiked continuously to the existing beam. Add multiple studs
below the bearing points of the new 2x12is and spike them continuously
to the existing wood post.
2. Over the bed,ur* oom areas the same comments apply except three 2x10is
may be added instead of three 2xl2is. Notching into the existing
double can is not reauirp-d-
This June 5th meeting with Mr. Radziej and our follow-up telephone conversation
represents our total involvement with this project. We have not acted in such a
capacity that lets us be considered an engineer of record for the project.
