Dear Mr. Shunt
On August 22nd you called me to say that you had received our letter,
dated July 28, 1988, in which my wife and I described the corrective work that
we were going to have completed on our garage slab. You also indicated that
you would prefer to do the repair yourself.
I expected that you would to call me on Monday, August 29th, to establish
a firm date for the repair and to discuss the details of the procedure. Your
wife called on August 30th and told me that you would schedule us shortly
after Labor Day. At this time I want to repeat (previously indicated in our
July 28th letter) that we would like a brief written statement (work contract)
that describes the steps that you will take to repair the slab. We are
particularly interested in the preparation of the slab before the mixture of
appropriate cement is laid. We have been advised by several major concrete
companies that the scaled areas must be ground out and that the rest of the
slab must be treated (e.g. acid etched, scored) to insure proper bonding and
to decrease the possibility of further problems.
We expect that you will share your procedures both verbally and in written
form before you proceed with the work. We will appreciate your professional
attention to this project. Thank you.

We will expect these items to be completed by August 1, 1989 and a
reinspection called for. The structure is approved for occupancy prior
to these items being completed.
