An inspection on July 11, 1983 has determined that the sightline for the intersection on your property is obstructed and could present a hazard to traffic. Section 205.154 of the City Code requires that, "On a corner lot in a vision safety control zone, nothing shall be erected, placed, planted or allowed to grow in such a manner as to impede vision..., the vision safety control zone is described as follows: That area bounded by the street right of way lines of a corner lot and a straight line joining points on said right of way lines twenty five (25) feet from the intersection of said right of way lines." Therefore, the City is requesting you, the property owner, to correct the following problem and to make the Cityfs streets safer for travel. The new garage addition will have a lower level and precast concrete plank will be used to span the garage floor. The footing for the new addition is 2W wide X 12" deep reinforced with two #5 bars_ The foundation walls are 12" masonry block with # 5 vertical bars at 6' on center maximum. I inspected the existing foundation wall and found it to be in good structural condition. According to my calculations the existing foundation all and the new foundation wall / new footing will be adequate to support the precast concrete plank garage floor. A concrete topping should be poured on top of the precast plank sloped to the garage doors. Please forward a copy of this report to the City of Fridley Building Inspections Department.
