Dear Mr. Keefe:
It was brought to the City's. attention and confirmed by an on-site inspection
on June 18, 1981 that the above listed rental property was being maintained
in violation of Chapter 220, Residential Maintenance Code, of the Fridley
City Code.
The inspection on the above date found the following list of deficiencies
which must be corrected. Any repairs or ir+;,�rovements must be completed in
a workmanship like manner. It is the City's hope that similar or other
deficiencies in apartments that were not inspected will be corrected as needed.
EXTERIOR
1. The painted wood surfaces of the garages are starting to chip and ._1
flake and should be scheduled for refinishing in the summer of 1981.
2. Repair or replace any screens with holes in them: north wall, 2nd

3. It is recommended that extensions be placed on the downspouts to
direct water away from the building and prevent erosion and possible
leakage into ground floor apartments.
4. Replace and maintain the broken glass for the south entry ICA -

1. Immediately discontinue the practice of propping open the first

2. Replace and maintain the missing handrail for the first floor,

Has letter from Daryl and Steve. Objects to having to

Evidently he was told that he should then extend the black-

He has talked to his lawyer, who agrees this is discriminatory

and capricious, and if the City insists he do this, he
appear at the public hearing in Sept. with his lawyer. He
will take pictures of other lots not striped and other garbage
cans without screening (he had to do that also, but has taken
care of it).
Very upset, but dignified. He has tal.ked to Daryl about this
without satisfaction. He has spent a lot of money making
