Dear Mr. Villella:
This letter will reiterate our telephone conversation of March 1, 1979
and make clear the City's intentions with regard to the home occupation
being operated at 1371 Skywood Lane N.E.
As indicated in our conversation and brought to your attention in our
letter dated February 6, 1979 (copy enclosed), the City Zoning Code does
permit home occupations but only those which; 1. Are confined entirely
to the principle structure; 2. Result in no outside storage of equipment
or materials, and; 3. Do not change the residential characteristics of
the neighborhood.
Numerous complaints and inspections have confirmed that flat bed trucks
(empty and loaded with logs), a trailer, and two snow plow blades are
being parked or stored on or adjacent to your property.
Therefore, to provide a living situation consistant with.a residential
neighborhood, the City must require you to immediately discontinue any
parking or storage of flat bed trucks, trailers, snow plows, or any other
equipment, relative to your business, at the above listed address A
reinspection will be conducted on or about 8:00 AM on March 5, 1979 to
determine compliance. We are confident in your cooperation and if any
questions arise, please feel free to call on me at 571-3450.
Failure to abate this violation will result in legal action being
initiated.

Re: Decorative Rock In Landscaping and Driveway Areas
Dear Mr. Villella:
As maintenance and improvement costs for residential properties increase,
residents are continually trying to find ways to reduce costs and still
maintain an aesthetically pleasing home.
Recently, the use of decorative rock and stone in the yard, boulevard
and driveway areas has become increasingly popular as a landscaping
technique. Although its use does provide an interesting addition to the
more routine landscaping, it can result in maintenance problems and
possibly dangerous situations.
The decorative rock that does end up in the street can be thrown by car
and truck tires. They are also picked up and thrown by children which
can injure people and damage property. It should also be noted that
materials and debris deposited on roadways is a violation of Minnesota
Statutes 169.42 (See attachment).
It is the responsibility of the hoiueowner to contain the rocks in the
designated areas to ensure they don't end up in the street. Tile would
like to request that you review your particular home to ensure that the
rock does, in fact, remain on your property.
We would appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

The City of Fridley has established a City Code for the purpose of
promoting a pleasant and attractive suburban environment. A recent
inspection of the property at 1371 Skywood Lane revealed that not
all Code requirements are presently being met. Listed below is an
item which does not comply with the City Code:
1. Fridley City Code requires that all vehicles must be currently
licensed/street operable and kept on a hard surface parking
area if they are stored outside. I observed a truck covered
by a tarp located east of your garage which does not fully
meet these requirements.
Your prompt attention in correcting this situation would greatly
assist us in helping make Fridley a better place to live. An
inspection will be conducted on or about May 9, 1994, to determine
compliance.
