SECTION 2. The .nspect«r of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the
erection of any bUiiding or strucL'ure, or for any addition to any existing
' building or structure, or for -_any ,Iteration or repairs to any existing
f building or structure, upon application therefore, regL,irc the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to t.hc.> amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein provided to -wit:
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE: Type 1, 2 & 4 _. $2.15 for each onu thousand cubic
feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3 & 5 - $1.85 for
each one thousand cubic feet.
ADDITIONAL MFORMATION
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average,
height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the
rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In no case shall the fee charged for,any permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $5.00.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTEi Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the
time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the construction site.
A Certified Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation, once it
has been constructed, will be required before proceeding with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OI' OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) days prior
to the use or occupancy of any structure for which a building permit has been
issued; and said structure shall not be used or occupied until a Certificate
of Occupancy has been issued.

The City will install a 'No U -Tum sign near this intersection at an appropriate location. You may
want to consider putting a 'Private Driveway sign in your yard also. However, we have found that
signage rarely solves this type of problem. It is usually driver behavior that needs to change,
something we have absolutely no control over. If a driver cannot see a large cul-de-sac to turn
around in, it is unlikely they are looking at signs either.
Were song we were unable to alleviate this issue during the reconstruction project and hope that
some things change for the better in the future.

Re: Installing No -U -Turn Sign
We are writing this letter as residents of 5201 Taylor St. N.E., Fridley. We
live at the "T" of 52nd and Taylor intersection, which then leads to a circle
on the South side of the "T".
We have numerous cars that routinely make U -Turns in our drive way as
they come up East from Central on 52nd Ave. Apparently, either they don't
see the circle, in which they can make a turn- around... or are too lazy to
drive the extra few feet to do so. We have taxi cabs, cars and trucks that
come into our drive way and then back out to reverse their direction, or
make a u -turn.
We are asking that a "No U -Turn" sign be posted to deter this from
continuing. If the city doesn't want to put a post in, then it could be attached
to the city diamond- reflector sign that is already in place in front of our
home.
We attended the city meeting previously to endorse the plan for 52nd Ave. to
be straightened out, and continue up the hill behind us, which would have
eliminated this problem for us. As this did not happen we are asking for your
help in this matter. We are getting a new driveway installed and should not
have to be accommodating to drivers that could go to the circle and turn
around.
Also, have grand -children that play in our drive, and we feel this is a hazard
to their safety.
Please give us some consideration in this decision..
