The City of Fridley has established a City Code for the purpose of
promoting a pleasant and attractive suburban environment. A recent
inspection of the property at 7553 Tempo Terrace N.E. revealed that
not all Code requirements are presently being met. Listed below
is an item which does not comply with the City Code:

On February 16, 1993 I did an inspection of work being done at the
above address per a request by the homeowner, Mr Henry Lemke.
I could not find any record of a building permit being issued for
this work. You had indicated that you would apply for the permit
the next day. As of todays date, you still have not obtained this
permit. If this permit is not obtained by March 26, 2993, we will
have to refer this matter to our City Prosecutor for his legal
consideration.

Re: Violation of Minnesota State Building Code at 7553 Tempo
Terrace NE, Fridley, MN
Dear Mr. McCabe:
On May 13, 1993 application was made by a representative of Sidex
Corporation to install a patio door at 7553 Tempo Terrace NE,
Fridley. Additional work was performed by Sidex Corporation beyond
that indicated on the building permit application. That work
involved replacement of a substantial number of existing double
hung windows.
Since the new window units reduced the existing clear opening
dimensions for the sleeping rooms, Section 203 of the State
Building Code (SBC) does not apply and a minimum of one window in
each sleeping room must have dimensional requirements complying
with Section 1204. Copies have been enclosed depicting the
dimensional requirements necessary for at least one window in each
sleeping room to provide compliance with the State Building Code.
Please be advised that any violation of the State Building Code is
a misdemeanor (Minnesota Statutes section 16B.69).
On or about June 8, 1993 the concerns of the'City of Fridley,
regarding SBC 1204, were discussed with Sidex Corporation and Mr.
Henry Lemke. It was my understanding that larger double hung
windows or casement style windows (one for each sleeping room)
would replace the noncompliance windows previously installed.
As of this communication, compliance with SBC Section 1204 has not
taken place.
Please respond in writing by July 22, 1993 as to your intentions to
comply with Section 1204.

bedroom double hung window to the rough opening and enlarge the
height to accept an opening for a single outswing French door.
