The Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ylinen at 7:30 P.M.

ACCEPTANCE OF THE MINUTES OF THE JULY 26, 1967 MEETING:
MOTION by Minish to accept the minutes of the July 26, 1967 meeting. The
motion was seconded, and there being no nays, Chairman Ylinen declared the
motion carried.
1. A REQUEST FOR A VARIANCE FROM SECTION 45.24, CITY CODE OF FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA
1.963, REVISED DECEMBER 31, 1964, BY WAIVER OF SIDE YARD REQUIREMENT OF 5 FEET
TO 3 FEET 7 INCHES TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF AN ATTACHED GARAGE ON LOT 8,
BLOCK 5, FLORENCE PARK ADDITION TO FRIDLEY, ANOKA COUNTY,_ MINNESOTA, SAME
BEING 6340 VAN BUREN STREET NORTHEAST, FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA. (REQUEST BY

MOTION by Minish to grant the variance as requested as there is 27.7 feet
to the next major building and 6 feet to •a detached garage, and a petition
has been signed by the neighbors,..including those within 200 feet of the
proposed garage, with all approving the construction. The Motion was
seconded by Mittelstadt. Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, Chairman
Ylinen declared the motion carried.
2. A REQUEST FOR A VARIANCE FROM SECTION 45.24, CITY CODE OF FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA

LOT 1, BLOCK 2, LYNDALE BUILDERS 4TH ADDITION TO FRIDLEY, ANOKA COUNTY,
MINNESOTA, SAME BEING 5431 MADISON STREET NORTHEAST, FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA.

It was noted that there will be a cul-de-sac and dead-end a short way.fxom
the proposed garage. Mr. Swanson was present and explained the reason for
asking for the request.
MOTION by Mittelstadt to approve the variance, only because Cheri Lane is
not to be used as a thoroughfare and is a dead end with the cul-de-sac being
close'to the property in question, and also, the neighbors have signed a
petition approving of the building, -and the City has an 18 foot boulevard in
this area making a total of approximately 21 feet from the propsed garage to
the street surfacing. Seconded by Ahonen. On the motion, those voting in
favor, Mittelstadt, Ylinen, Ahonen; voting nay, Minish. Chairman Ylinen
declared the motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, Chairman Ylinen declared the meeting
adjourned at 8:05 P.M.
