Be: Front Landing and Steps at 1543 West Bavarian Pass N.E.
Dear Sirs:
Upon the request of the owner of 1543 West Bavarian Pass, we made an
inspection of the front landing and steps. It was reported that the
landing and steps had been settling since they took occupancy and that a
repair was attempted some time ago by pouring a second layer over the
original installation. This only helped temporarily because the landing
has continued to settle.
The inspection confirmed these statements and it is apparent that the
landing and steps were constructed without the normal footings and it is
also apparent that the ground they were poured on was not compacted.
This situation must be corrected by removing the settled area and
removing all of the uncompacted soil and providing a proper foundation
by either bringing to grade a concrete foundation or recompaction of the
backfill.
We will expect that this situation will be corrected as soon as possible
and certainly not later than July 15, 1983. If you have any questions
on this matter, please contact we at 571-3450.
