Dear Mr. Yaeger:
I was called out to 5526 West Bavarian Pass on July 19, 1976 by Mrs. Lee
Bartlett to -check out a water leakage complaint. Mrs. Bartlett showed me
water dripping from above the sliding glass door in the lower level on the
west wall. Last monday's rain had sent about 2 quarts of water through
this leak. Apparently the owners have complained about this problem in the
past and both yourselves and the owners have done extensive caulking to no
avail as the problem persists.
Close investigation shows the exterior above the problem area to be rough
vertical siding which shows signs of warping on both sides of the door
above. This may be the problem but closer investigation, including possible
removal of the siding and flashing, may be required to determine actual
location of the leak.
Considering the extent of leakage and apparent failure of repairs so far,
I suggest that the problem area be investigated and proper measures be taken
to control this problem. I have contacted Mr. Jim London of the Darrel Farr
.Corporation who informs me that your association deals with complaints of
this nature.
A reinspection of 5526 West Bavarian Pass will be made on or about August 3,
1976. Please contact me at 571-3450 if you have any questions. Thank you
for your prompt attention.
