Re: Occupancy Violation
Dear Mr. Lawton:
This is to confirm my verbal instructions to you of March 19, 1975.
You have ten days or until April 4, 1975 to vacate the premises at.
1414 West Danube Road, or bring it into compliance of the following
Code requirements:
1. Install the following plumbing fixtures;
a. Kitchen sink
b. Bathroom facilities consisting of a water closet, lavatory,
and either a bathtub or shower.
c. All plumbing fixtures shall be provided with running water
necessary for their operation (this includes hot water). All
plumbing completed at this time must be installed and tested
to Code requirements.
2. Provide a door to the bathroom.
3. Install a products of combustion fire alarm that has been approved
by the State of Minnesota.
4. Install hand rails and guard rails with 9" maximum openings on all
open sided stairways.
5. Install a guard rail 36" high with maximum opening of 9" along all
walls where the adjacent floor is more than 30" lower than the
upper floor, or install sheetrock on the affected walls.
6. Install and pass inspection on all electrical wiring and cover all
switch and receptacle boxes according to Code.
7. Install the outside front steps or place some temporary
at the front door.

8. The basement floor is to be completed by April 21, 1975.
9. The sheetrock must be completed by May 1, 1975.
10. The garage and hard surface driveway to be completed by June 1, 1975.
11. Call for and pass all final inspections prior to June 1, 1975.

in which a deadline of September 1, 1975 was given for completion of the
hard surfaced driveway at your address. It was noted that as of this date

Dear Mr. Lawton:

This will be the fourth letter written to you with reference to your
driveway. The City has repeatedly extended the completion date for
you.
We can appreciate the costs involved in building a new home and the
City has been patient with you, however we cannot allow you to put
off surfacing the driveway through another winter.
If your driveway is not surfaced by October 1, 1976, the City will
be compelled to start legal action for noncompliance of the City Code.
On Monday, August 16, 1976, Ron Holden spoke to you on the phone, and
you indicated that you planned to have the driveway surfaced the first
part of September so the October 1, 1976 completion date is certainly
more than fair.
Please call us upon your completion of the driveway so that we may
close your file.
