BEFORE THE
BOARD OF APPEALS
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Board of Appeals of the City of Fridley
will meet in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday,
May 9, 1972 to consider the following matter:
A request for a variance of Section 45.053, 4B, 4,
to reduce the required side yard adjoining an
attached garage from 5 feet to 2 feet to allow an
attached double garage to be built to replace the
existing detached single garage that is 2 feet
from the line, located on Lot 9, Block 1, Donnay's
Lakeview Manor Addition, the same being 5821'West
Moore Lake Drive, Fridley, Minnesota. (Request by
Mr. Arnie Morrison, 5821 West Moore Lake Drive,
Fridley, Minnesota.)
Anyone who desires to be heard with reference to the above matter may be
heard at this meeting.

To Whom it may concern:
My neighbors, the Arne Morrisons have informed me that they desire to
remodel their present garage and attach it to their home. Their present
garage is 2 feet from my North property line and their plans indicate that
the new addition will still be 2 feet from the property line, therefore,
I can see no objection to their proposal.

Motion by Wahlberg to waive reeding the public hearing®
Seconded by Minish. Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, the motiop c4rrted,
Mr. Morrison and Yr. Dahlberg -of limber Construction were present to present the
request. ®.picture of the lot and construction plans were shown to the Board,

M, Morrison stated his present garage is 2 feet from the lot line. Me has 2
oars and he needs a double garage so he would like a variance to build an attached
double garage using the slab that is existing. He also felt the double garage
would improve the appearance of the house.
Morrison presented to the Hoard a letter of no objection written by his
neighbor Dr, K, gngebrigtsen,
MMON by Wahlberg to receive the letter of no objection.
Seconded by Minish. Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, the motion oarriOd,
Chairman Minish asked why the garage couldn't be built in the back yard,
Mr. Morrison answered the house is a walk -out and there is a steep bank.so it is
most impossible to.build in the back.
Mr. Dahlberg said the water table is very high in this area and the bads yard is
about 6 feet below the street.
Mr, Belisle asked if there are frost footings under the existing garage.,
IV, Morrison said there are frost footings.
XMQM by Wahlberg to close the public hearing.
Seconded by Finish. Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, the motion carried,.
Chatzm4u Minish stated he felt it is a reasonable request as it is not Werting
the neighbor anymore than the existing garage is and it seems there is ago other
Neq to expand the garage.
