RESOLUTION NO. 2016 - 37
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND AUTHORIZING A CALL FOR BIDS FOR
THE MAIN STREET TRAIL AND BRIDGE
PROJECT NO. ST 2015-21 (SP 127-020-029 / SP 0285-68)
WHEREAS,
the City of Fridley has developed an Active Transportation Plan that identifies
improvements to promote multi-modal travel along its roadways, and
WHEREAS,
the City of applied for and received federal highway funding for a shared-use trail on
Main Street including a separated trail bridge across Interstate 694 in accordance with its Active
Transportation Plan, and
WHEREAS,
the City of Fridley has developed plans for the project that have been approved by the
Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT), and
WHEREAS,
these plans are available for review at the office of the Director of Public Works, and
WHEREAS,
the Main Street Trail and Bridge Project No. ST2015-21 is included in the City’s
approved Capital Improvement Plan and has been determined to be feasible to complete,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,
by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka
County, Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the Main Street Trail and Bridge project recommended by the Public Works
Department be completed, and the work involved in said improvement shall hereafter be
designated as Main Street Trail and Bridge Project No. ST2015-21. The project will include
segments described as follows:

Main Street from 44 Avenue to 57 Avenue
2. The plans and specifications prepared by Bolton and Menk for such improvement
pursuant to the Council action heretofore are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City
Clerk.
The Director of Public Works shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official
newspaper advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under such
approved plans and specifications.
